TotipotentSC is focused exclusively on providing consultation and cell biology/stem cell biology tools for research, translational research, and clinical markets. Toti is headquartered in Los Angeles, California with a subsidiary in Chennai, India.

Toti is a division of MK Alliance, Inc. a USA based privately held company founded in 2007.

Company Background & Founders

The idea of creating the world’s premier integrated stem cell consumables, equipment, and service company came to MK Alliance’s founders Ken Harris and Mitch Sivilotti on a trip to the Great Barrier Reef.  While pondering one of nature’s wonders, Mitch and Ken recognized that no supplier was focused exclusively on serving the stem cell market while both science and government are investing heavily to harness it’s fantastic potential in life saving therapies.   

Ken Harris , Co Founder

 

Ken is a molecular biologist by training and has over 22 years of experience in the biotech field.  His commercial experience began through several highly successful start-up biotech companies including Qiagen which he joined in its first year of operations.  Prior to starting Toti Ken managed Pall Corporation’s biosciences division, a $170 million business which focused on consumables for the research, diagnostic, medical device and stem cell marketplace.  

 

Mitch Sivilotti , Co-Founder

 

Mitch completed his graduate degree in cellular biology, where he studied the genetics of diabetes and later protein stability in cell culture models for Huntington’s disease. It was during this academic training that he became aware of the potential power that stem cells have for therapeutic treatment for such devastating illnesses.  Commercially, he has 8 years of experience in the biotech industry, most recently serving as the Global Program Manager of Cord Blood Cell Therapy at Pall Corporation.

 

International Experience

 

Through extensive international business travel, Ken and Mitch were most intrigued by the scientific ingenuity in the Indian sub-continent.  Our goal is to enable the exchange of ideas and discovery between the US, Canada, and Asia in the stem cell field. We will utilize our western business training and contacts in combination with our Asian market expertise to facilitate a rewarding business and scientific experience for our partners and clients.
